  2. Hey everyone, thanks for clicking on the post! Sorry if this is a bit overdue, a friend of mine HunterGaming recently told me I should be putting my videos up on Exile's home forums, so I thought why the hell not. Every time I release a new one, ill post it here. If anyone has any suggestions, or wants to give me some feedback, feel free to post at any time! Links to my stuff will be below.   4. Hello, I placed a wooden wall in my base on the extreme outer limit of my territory, but now I can't move, remove, or pack it. I tried relogging, waiting until restart, and hitting it with an ax, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Hallo We are trying to make a base but we get the message, "Build is disallowed her on this server", every time we try to build near an airport.. We saw this thread: But can't seem to find minimumDistanceToTraderZones or ...SpawnZones in any of the .pbo config.cpp We have looked in @A3_DMS.pbo, @exile_server.pbo and @exile_server_config.pbo. All of this in the @ExileServer folder Are we looking in the wrong folders or do we need to write the lines our self?
  6. Hi, Just a quick dirty way of having the ability to disable building in some location and near some objects. This was not my original work however I have changed some things to add building and to get the messages working. I cannot remember who's work it was mildly based off so sorry for that. create a new directroy in your mission folder something like fixes then create a file called ExileClient_object_item_construct.sqf with the code from ExileClient_object_item_construct.sqf bellow once you have done this open up your config.cpp and locate the CfgExileCustomCode section and add the following to it *also now stops building in towns.. // Disables Building in locations ExileClient_object_item_construct = "fixes\ExileClient_object_item_construct.sqf"; ExileClient_object_item_construct.sqf https://github.com/Dwarfer/ExileModTweaks/blob/master/mpmissions/fixes/ExileClient_object_item_construct.sqf
  7. *** DISCLAIMER *** I'm in no way an experienced Arma/Exile player. But I looked around for a guide before I began my first base and didn't find what I was looking for - so now I try to make it easier for others who start this great mod. My experience So, you've been roaming Exile for a while. You've found some loot and it was all good till you faced death. Everything was gone and back to being an "orange ninja". This happens to all of us more than we like. But when you have your own little base you can gather stuff as a backup for when things like that happen. - imagine that, not having to farm everything all over after a spawn. This was what I wanted more than anything in Exile, so I began to loot everything of "great" value and sell it to get the money for a base flag (5.000). When I had the money I started to look for a good spot to claim for my base. NOTE: don't buy the flag before you know where you'll build as it's an item you carry on you and can loose!!! I had to respawn and get to my body a few times when I took the flag to the location of choice - pesky heli squads! I had set my eye on a hill some distance from nearest spawnpoint. This was mainly to make sure I wouldn't get visitors too often if people would more or less drop on top of me. On the other hand I had to travel a certain distance when I died in order to get to my base. There's a fine line between a base placed at a distance and a base placed in isolation... trust me, I learned that! My base is located just about 15min on foot from the nearest spawn. When I started building I didn't bother to get a car. There was trees all over and all of them in walking distance to my flag, so why even use a car? - question answered: a car can hold vastly more wood than your backpack - ergo fewer trips to travel. The first thing I wanted to build was the base-core so to speak. The main floor with 2x3 floortiles all boxed in for no one to enter... but hey, what was this? I needed a lock for my base. Hmm, I guess I could have figured that out if I had given it any attention. Anyway the lock is also a 5.000 purchase. But anything that can keep people out of my base is worth the price. The lock is also an item you can lose, so get it when you need it and then install it ASAP. I now own a base that suits all my needs - 2 levels of a wooden fortress that can also hold a few cars if needed. What I learned (or knew up front) 1) Don't think about a base flag before you can afford to get the lock too. Ergo you need 10.000+ on your account. 2) Travel with care when you carry your flag/lock to your base location. 3) Just bring the damn car. Buy it, steal it, borrow it - bring it! 4) No, you haven't got enough wood just yet! (I had 600 wood for my base and still had to get more... and my base isn't big). 5) Location, location, location! You wan't it distant but not in the land far-far-away. 6) Make sure you can park a car INSIDE your base. 7) Trader for base flag and lock are only located in the terminal safezone (as default - some servers may have them at others safezones too). 8) Don't put windows in the ground level of your base - because... BANG! 9) Put a roof on your base - because *sound of heli*... BANG! 10) Remember to lock you base! If by any chance you're like me and want your base to look good, then you should know that building a base can take some time. So if you only have an hour then don't start that project right then and there! These are the words from one noob building his first base - maybe others can learn from it. If not, so be it.
  8. Hi, i´ve got a big Problem, i use Extended base Mod on my Server and everything works fine, but i cant place any buildings. I can craft them, buy them, but cannot place them i just go into the building menu for ajusting heigh etc and when i press Spacebar nothing happens, the only way to get out is to press Esc, but whats wrong ? why i cant place the building but see the icons, can buy and craft them ? pls help me ! Thanks EDIT : ther are no Logs
  9. When i'm trying or players are trying to upgrade ONLY sometimes it says failed to upgrade you are retarded! Well I might be retarded as I might be doing something wrong, but it just doesn't let me upgrade or some players only at random times it works

  13. Hey, does someone know a server where the main focus is on building or at least a bit more than usual. For example where you need lower respect to upgrade your base or where you start with more building parts than normal, something like this. If you know one, please tell me Thanks
  14. Buildings have to be square, and there is very little opportunity to express creativity through them. I know building isn't the main focused aspect, but there is myself and many others who thoroughly enjoy building and believe a (possibly) simple implementation could allow for more creativity. Square boxes are ugly; would it be possible to implement triangular foundations and floors? They could be equilateral so there doesn't have to be varying wall lengths. This would provide more creativity and even make circular bases available.
  15. Wondering if there is a way to add the flip or Z axis? LOL Not sure what axis it is.. but just rotating Q and E objects leave us wanting more.. Also.. any new building objects coming? I.E. 1/2 wall 1/2 floor, smaller walls or doors? Longer stairs? etc... Thanks

Hi i have a question about the craftingsystem, say i want to add custom recipies for buildingparts, as i cant fit them into my backpack, what is the approach to take, to make them into kits, as all the other building parts? I have some custom models i want to include on our server, but as i dont know how the "kitsystem" works, i thought i might ask, is it even possible? or would i have to go a make a custom trader and take the R3F approach on the logistics part?, i rather not do that! Thanks in advance!

  18. When floating a floor in mid air while physics is enabled, it will be marked as orange, but does not fall to the ground when built.
  19. I have now found a couple of players/ groups building either where a DMS static mission spawns or very close too, will this stop them spawning in and if so is there a way of stopping it?? Thanks in Anticipation
  20. So, I've got this issue with building in my territory. Got two flags on the server I'm playing on, neither of them are placed flat on the ground like I've since seen is the recommended practice. One of them is placed on the second floor balcony of a house. This caused me no issues most of the time, except once in the middle of a building session. I'd been placing and moving objects without fail. Decided to pack and move a wood storage crate. But upon trying to place it back down I got the "You are inside enemy territory!" error message. I was initiating the placement in the exact position I'd done it just a minute or two previously, but now it bugged out on me. After waiting for a few minutes, then trying to initiate placement again while standing on the ground level, I could build again. I don't know if it was completely random, or if something I did triggered it. Same with it resolving itself, being either random, or because of me moving/waiting before trying again. The second flag is placed on a fairly large rock formation, probably 20-30 metres off the ground below. In this territory I've been unable to build at all, at any point in time, trying several different days, different places in the territory and different building components. I've considered expanding that territory so it reaches ground level, but I'm starting to suspect it wouldn't matter. So, to get to the point. The question(s). I've seen at least one post on this forum that regards a bug fix relating to getting this error message when trying to build inside your own territory. Could that possibly help, whenever it gets rolled into the next Exile release? Does anyone know the specifics of how this works, and why it breaks when the flag is not flat on the ground? Does the territory sphere get generated around the actual visible flag object, or does it maybe snap to the ground regardless of how high off it the flag is placed? I'm just curious, and also trying to decide whether to request that the server admins remove the flag so I can place a new one, wait for a future release, or try to expand the territory to see if that helps. Not to mention, is there any testing I can do in regards to all of this that would help the developers?
  21. Hi all! I have a problem. It is my understanding that there is a limit on the maximum number of objects I can construct. I encountered this while building a second level for my base. What is strange is not this limitation itself, in fact I get and support this rule, whats strange is that this system seems to be flawed. As things stand now, I'm confused and increasingly frustrated about lost crafting items. Let me explain my confusion: First off, all objects seem to be affected, or no? It would be great to know how this feature works in the first place and get some transparency. Does this rule also affect vehicles or only construction objects? What objects specifically? The main issue is that after receiving a MAX NR OF OBJECTS warning, and I pack a crate for example to reduce the number, there is no object slot freed up! So, although the total number of objects should have decreased, opening up a slot for placing, lets say, a fireplace for example, alas the answer is no and I still get the same warning dialog. Ist there a counter somewhere that I can check while pimping my crib? So, right now I'm stuck with no stairs to the first floor, less and less crates, holes in my wall and roof, and no way to patch things up. All of this nonsense just to place a fireplace and crafting table. My biggest beef with the system is that in some cases it will let me construct something, like stairs for example, and lets me place them just fine, but as soon as I hit MOVE, the damn thing disappears into another dimension, never to be seen again...so I give up, roam the map a bit, do some missions, come back and then it resets arbitrarily, telling me I can build again. It seems like the counter resets sometimes or can it be related to server restarts? Hope you can help and thanks for reading

  24. We have build a base on a 0.9.41 server on Altis. Our problem is that the walls and floors on the 3 floor fall down to ground level after server restart.
  25. hi guys? we will build a big base =) now we have by the half work one Problem. we cant build because ita "ride maximum number of objects reached". 1- how many is allowed? 2- can the Server Admin change the Limit??? thang you and sorry 4 my english=)
