I'm not 100% sure but I think a player with a high ping takes more bandwidth than a player who is "local" to the server.

Absolutely, that player with high ping takes valuable server bandwidth away because the response time is very slow. The Delay caused by this ping can lead to desync to other players.

think the max is arround 250 for the best of both worlds (players/perf.)

Short answer: Yes.

There is a longer answer that makes it a bit situational.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the quick response.  I had mine up to 300, but I lowered it to 225.  I'm being very selective with whom can connect now to increase performance.

Thanks again.

Wait, one more question.  in my BEServer.cfg I put MaxPing 220 and it doesn't do sh*t.  Does it have to be above 220 for a specific amount of time?  Or is there a way I can do it with Infinistar? Thanks.

edit:

I edited this, but left my original stupid question because I wanted you all to really know how slow I am.  It kicks and is working as you suggested.  Takes a couple times or needs to be constant.  Thanks again.  I'll go back to being slow.
