Did you change the radius in which it searches for units?

Also make sure there are units in the range specified.

 

 

EDIT: Also make sure your paths you put in the Apps config are correct!

And this is correct, Id want to do it only for players but was not sure on the class to put there.

Else, well it counts also AIs they might have XM8s in the lore who knows ;)

Change 

_playercount = count (player nearEntities ["Man", _allowedDistance ]);

to

_playercount = count (player nearEntities ["Exile_Unit_Player", _allowedDistance ]);

And you will only scan nearby players.
