Exile Spawn Zone (changing parachute symbol)

I would like to change the "chute" map symbol used for spawn points as its ground spawning.

 I changed exilespawnzone to mil_triangle and it displays ok but it doesn't function as a spawn site,

can I change the symbol? and if so, is it a case of another variable entry?

what lines of code are available in class item?

Would also like to know this. Hell, I would like to remove the symbols altogether.

I'm not home to check but need to see where they create the marker exilespawnzone. Most likely in the client config. Then depending on how it's done then can see about either an override of a file or new code in description.ext. I'll try and check tonigjt

ok so its as a suspected. very difficult to change. one option is to override about 5 different files in your mission file and change the type of marker... but then any marker of that type you use will be a spawn point....

or you may be able to create a new marker class that possibly would override the old one... dont know if it works tho as i havent tested - got other things on plate atm.

Clients Exile config.bin defines the marker:


class CfgMarkerClasses
{
	class ExileSpawnZone
	{
		displayName = "Exile Spawn Zone";
	};
};

class CfgMarkers
{
	class ExileSpawnZone
	{
		scope = 0;
		name = "Exile Spawn Zone";
		icon = "\A3\ui_f\data\map\VehicleIcons\iconparachute_ca.paa";
		color[] = {0.7,0.93,0,1};
		size = 16;
		shadow = 1;
		markerClass = "ExileSpawnZone";
	};
};

You could try overriding in description.ext with the above code and a new icon or even with No icon patch EG:

{
	class ExileSpawnZone
	{
		displayName = "Exile Spawn Zone";
	};
};

class CfgMarkers
{
	class ExileSpawnZone
	{
		scope = 0;
		name = "Exile Spawn Zone";

		size = 16;
		shadow = 1;
		markerClass = "ExileSpawnZone";
	};
};
