Option to get weapon on spawn

5 posts in this topic

So I've got quite a hardcore server going and I'd like to give players the option to be given a pistol and one mag after they die, but I only want the option to be there to be used once since their last death, anyone have any ideas how this could be achieved? If someone could point me in the direction of Exiles respawn code I think I could probably work it out from there.

in @exileserver/addons/Exile_Server_config.pbo thier is a file called 'config.cpp'

In thier search for 'BambiSettings'

And you will see this :

Spoiler

class BambiSettings
    {
        /**
         * Loadout of new bambi players
         *
         * (They will always spawn with a bambi overall - you cannot
         * change the loadout uniform)
         */
        loadOut[] =
        {
            "ItemCompass",
            "ItemMap",
            "Exile_Item_XM8",
            "ItemRadio",
            "Exile_Item_PlasticBottleFreshWater"

        };

Add here any additional equipment you want them to have

Use this link to find the correct codes

CfgWeapons

DO NOT FORGET TO ADD A COMMA AFTER EACH LINE:

e.g:

"ItemCompass",         <<< COMMA ON THIS LINE
            "ItemMap"     <<< LAST LINE DOES NOT HAVE A COMMA

Hope this helps

Thanks I was aware of the default configuration and how to edit it. What I want though is an option, I would like the player to be able to have a scroll wheel or XM8 option to be able to choose to take out a weapon, ending their bambi state early. I think I may have it though.

ExileClientPlayerIsBambi is a global variable I can use that's only present when a player has just spawned after dying, I should be able to use that as a condition to  create an if statement to add an action to equip a weapon. If it works I'll publish it for everyone.

Ah appologies. My bad for reading your post to fast haha.

I wonder if it would it be easier to apply something like wasteland where you choose a class from the lobby?
