Setting up Arma 3 Exile with Linux issues

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi. In the middle of me setting up my fresh and brand new Arma 3 Exile server using Linux(the host is Debian 8) I've ran into a huge issue with the @Exile folder.
./arma3server -config=@ExileServer/config.cfg -mod=@Exile -servermod=@ExileServer -autoinit
2:11:11 SteamAPI initialization failed. Steam features wont's be accessible!
 2:11:11 Initializing stats manager.
 2:11:11 Stats config disabled.
 2:11:11 sessionID: 474d9191501b74145064edb48c618c702d924a03
 2:11:11 ../lib/Network/networkServer.cpp ClearNetServer:NOT IMPLEMENTED - briefing!
Cannot open file '/home/kiwi/arma3server/@Exile\addons\exile_psycho_octavia'

And because of this error it will stop.

However I can get around this by renaming every file starting with an upper case letter to lower case(because Linux is case sensitive and it's trying to reference things that do exist but is upper cased so it doesn't know it's there) and the server will start happily with 0 errors.

However now nobody can join due to missing keys(because the files have been renamed).

Is there any way I can get around this? I've used the @Exile and @ExileServer folder from the downloads page.

Hi lowercase the Mod folders and set permissions to 755 on each file in the folder!

Can you post the log file? Did you renamed the files with a command or manualy?

Renamed the files using "mv @ExileServer @exileserver"

As for the log adding logging from the console to a file actually causes it to progress and then freeze.

You can get the log here http://chie.club/files/stderr.log

Permissions are set up correctly where they can read everything from with in the A3 server folder and I am using my own user and the user owns those files. Permissions is not an issue.

Without adding logging from the console I still get the same error as described in the OP.

In the same directory as the arma3server file.

in home/kiwi/arma3server/@exile and the same for @exileserver? Then check the permissions! The server can not load the mods! Set the same permission how the curator folder and files! Try it!

But the permissions are the same? and it can access it?

file permission to? On my Linux system it only worked when I change all capitals to lower case! /home/exileserver/@exileserver/addons/files... Or try to set the exile and exileserver permissions to 777 for testing! Folder and files!
