Exile brightness

Question

Hi kids,

Got a real stomper here. Nighttime is the right time, but for some reason on the map Kerama+exile nighttime is kinda like daytime. When I load up the map without exile it's dark as coffee. I will show you what I mean!

Night with exile loaded

Apart from this topic making me think of this video, does anyone have the slightest idea where I'll have to look to fix this problem?

Posted (edited)

*cough*

// Bright nights
[] call ExileClient_system_moon_initialize;

*cough*

Just so you know, that line is located in ExileClient_system_process_postInit.sqf.

It's not because of the date settings in Exile, is it? Could it be set to a full moon date and so making everything brighter?

Nah, thought about that too. Did multiple dates and years (eden now has a nifty function telling you when it's full moon btw!) but no dice.

Try adding this to the bottom of initPlayerLocal.sqf:

ppEffectDestroy ExileClientPostProcessingColorCorrections;
ppEffectDestroy ExileClientPostProcessingBorderVignette;

tried it in the editor, but no fix unfortunately.

It almost seems as if it's to do with the player model, as you can see below:

the plot thickens!

Just was on the server, and around dawn it just turns pitch black before (obviously) getting light again due to the rising sun.

This just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

It's likely to be caused by the Exile PPEffects. Try turning them off :P

Off topic: That map looks amazing.....

That was already suggested and it didn't work.

It's not the night that is bright, but the terrain at night. The terrain looks like it's daytime but the sky is dark. I've been on his server and noticed it first hand.

Well.. that's strange. I wonder if there is a default Gamma setting for the map or something?
