Base raiding is a joke

You've completely over-looked the casual exile player!!!!

The more video's I see of base raiding the more I'm getting put off.

While its absolutely perfect for the lucky people who get to spend all day and night playing the game, its completely unfair on the people who can only manage a few evenings a week. I just don't want to spend hours grinding out items and materials to constantly have my stuff stolen by guys who don't work and can afford to mess about all day and night.

What's more, when this new patch comes in replacing virtual currency to physical is going to make it FAR worse!

Safes should be altered and have 2 sections, money and items. If a safe is hacked into only 10-20% of the balance can be taken in a 24 hour period. There should also be an un-hackable safe which has 20% capacity and 10times the price of the regular safe for storage of the higher end items and precious loot!

I'm really not happy with the direction this is going from a casual gamers perspective! Granted this looks like toys out of the pram, but my god its going to be impossible to get anything done.

Game is still heavily in development, bases in their current form are more of a place holder/toy system, which you conceded. However you cant judge a book by its cover and you don't know the base raiding direction at all as the dev blog hasn't been released yet (expect it very soon!). You are filling in blanks and putting one and one together to make 5. 

In the coming patch, along with lootable currency, there are also some significant changes coming to base raiding system (and construction) that WILL change the dynamic completely.  There are also other storage options coming as well as lots of other features that will influence the game in terms of base building. 

Beyond that I expect lots of balancing AND other future cool developments that WILL significantly improve the game. Got to be patient though pal. At the moment it is playable and nothing that a good server admin can't balance effectively. 

So I would urge you not to make your judgement on the direction of the mod just yet.

It just seems like its been one massive jump forward which has royally f'd anybody who has job/family who cant be on to protect the base 24/7!

Please can you implement something that will give at least the casual player the chance to save any physical money if and when the patch drops.

Right now, base raiding is amazing if you can spend each day everyday... but if you have life then all your grinding/ gathering is pointless or you'll spend all your time collecting just to keep up.

 

IMO base raid needs to go until a more fair system can be put in place!

I have a job and kids and my wife goes ape shit if I have to get online in the middle of dinner to stop a base raid so I know your gripe exactly. I'm privy to some info on the new patch and rest assured, I'm satisfied with the direction that it is going. 

I also know the guys who work behind the scenes are very flexible and do take feedback seriously so once its released and tested they will review it and work on ways to improve it, if there are anythings that are detrimental to the gameplay.  

Im not going to lie to you though, with persistent survival/PvP mods like this, casual and solo players are always going to be up against things and being part of a "family" (new feature!), or at least on civil terms with one,  will be very , very beneficial. 

Exciting things floating about in the Devs heads, take my word for it mate. 

In the meantime, I recommend playing on decent servers that make base raiding a bit more of a challenge, e.g. making explosives a bit rare/expensive, that kind of thing.

I'm a casual gamer... Never had any issue blowing up peoples bases or having physical poptabs. This is all going back to the Epoch days

raiding is fine just as the script there got released not to far ago so thats well come but we dont have the detailes on that yet so im not saying anything yet 

on other hand the "flag stealing" part im not looking forward to that ;(

it breaks my heart to go to bed and see a another person owning your belowed base :(

If the Dev's don't , I'm sure that it will be changed , so that to be raided , you must be online , only a f*** imo , would code it otherwise .

Flag stealing literally means just stealing. One cannot take over an enemy base, so this will not happen :) Stealing the flag is more symbolic, as the flag is the most precious thing of a territory.

As Boxman said, be patient just a little :)

so its steal a flag while the owner is eating/sleeping and every thing there is on the flag dissapers over restart? cause it sounds like that right now

No. When you steal a flag, you can go to the traders and sell it. The price you get depends on the level of the territory. It is almost not worth it to steal a new territory, but a top-notch territory gets you more. Also, it takes longer to steal the flag of a higher level territory.

The owner cannot build anymore when the flag has been stolen. Also, the owner has to raise a new flag within three days. You do so by going to the traders and pay the ransom for your flag. If you do not do so, your base will disappear after three days.

All values are configurable. Stealing flag duration, time to pay ransom, price / amount of ransom etc.
