Fix for Crashing - Joining Mission

Question

Posted (edited)

Put this into the launch parameters, I never had a issue with crashing until I removed this.

Has also worked for a few friends of mine.

-world=empty

 4:11:57 Mission file: ExileIntro
 4:11:57 Mission world: VR
 4:11:57 Mission directory: exile_client\missions\ExileIntro.VR\

Looking at the error of my friends RPT yields this, apparently its the little thing that goes on in the background in the main menu. Having -world empty removes this.

I guess loading/unloading this when you join a server was causing the crash.

Really I had no clue if it would work, we where willing to try anything and it so happens that it worked, although it might not work for everyone it worked for 3 people.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had that in my command line at one time and removed it to see if it would change anything. It didn't.

Wonder if there will be a hotfix soon, this is also happening to my friends.

It seems to be hit and miss, this has been the only thing that has worked for my friends out of all the 'fixes' posted so far.

Like I mentioned I always had this and never had issues, removed it and immediately crashed on joining a server.

I wish you all luck in finding a fix.
