My thoughts on raiding.

Raiding should cost a lot, it should be more of a bragging point then huge financial gain. The reason being raiding is too easy, you wait till the players that own the base are off then you hit them when you know they are at work, asleep in another country etc. Its stupid. It rewards stupid people who are able to wait till those ungodly hours to get quick loot and punish casual or older gamers. This is the main reason I stopped playing rust. If it a financial gain you will raid all the time, sending other people bankrupt and the raiders who can come on at 4am into riches. These raiders have no skill or life and do not deserve the free ride imo.

There are couple of things that should happen in raiding

- If the players are online it should be faster to hack if available
- Base raid should not happen at all unless there is 50% player base on.
- If you make raiding available at ungodly hours and do not put point B in you need to make available automatic defensive measures. Etc AI guards, AI reactionary force (could be via heli or jeep or truck this adds to your protection money bill) Automated turrets, booby traps. So there is a risk for the players
- I would always like to see timed hacks, rather then explosives it gives owners a chance to react.
- Also if a Raid happens there is a percentage chance of the who the raid was done by. If RP terms, This could be bribing a trader to get him to talk, a player bragging to a NPC in the trader zone about how he looted this base. But in mechanics wise it can give you the family or person responisble. this stop the anonymous crap, which you do not get IRL.

In raiding the advantage needs to be with the owner not the raider, else raiding imo is stupid and unbalalnced. Just like I saw in Rust and every other game that screws up raiding.

I agree.7 min to plant a charge is crazy. Base raiding should be simple. Base builders should have to use the brains and actually design the base in such a way it makes it harder to raid and not just build massive towers to sit and camp all day knowing ppl wont be able to actually not get in. Base raiding in its current form is not fun at all....

If I'm building a base, of course I'm going to double wall and/or triple wall it...and whatever else I can do.  I'm not going to make it easy for anyone.  Just because you want to be able to easily raid my base and steal my stuff?  Not gonna happen.  You're going to have to work for it.  And it should take time... it should be risky.... with a possibility of getting caught!   I do like the idea of automated turrets that function whether the base owner is on or not...  and the ability to place booby-traps that transcend restarts.   I think I saw booby traps somewhere on an A2 server a long time ago...I wonder if it can be adapted to A3/Exile?

someone needs to devise a script that creates persistent land mines in territories once placed, they dont work on the restart you place them but next restart they load from the db as an object, it could get laggy quick, but you can always just add a limit to the number of land mines per territory, god i wish i knew what i was doing or i would try my hand at it

ooohhhhhh i love banditry!!!! i just raided a base and got banned for it, only to appeal the ban to get the ban lifted for being a legit raid. made 680k tabs off of 2 bases all owned by the same people. the server had a really low sell value. it was a very meticulous raid took 2 weeks to plan and execute, my execution was stealing all of their codes and hitting them hard took 3hrs to complete with 3 people. 2 of the owners were livid and left the server the last owner sat there and gave me props for doing the raid and continued to play on the server. the raiding time is perfect, yes it takes a while but people are able to counter base raids or look into explosions or some sort whatever the measures.i think the base builders should learn from the raid. it exploits all of the flaws a person has when building his base whether it be his code system, or the way he has his base structure. people will find a way in!!! ive raided one base 5 time and every time i raided it the guy changed the base structure till the last time he eliminated the stairs to stop me from getting higher. (if i had enhanced movement i wouldn't have stopped there)

well said i like it, i believe i would seriously shit my pants the first time it happens if i walk down a hallway to find a tripwire or a "trigger" that sets off a shotgun hidden around the corner of a room. it would amazing to bring more primitive booby traps to a arma situation to save your base. walk into a trap room and you loose everything you had going into the raid. (could also bring more rp to the servers) and to see a security measure of ai come save your base at a raid!!!! badass!!!!  i think the man @Janski owner of the bandit mod and hacking stuff could probobly think of something that would be extraordinarily clever for us. i think automatic turrets might be a little to op unless there was a way to hack the auto turrets and be able to disable them ie emp grenade that shuts them down for a few min or hr something.... (fack i wish i could script haha)  all of these things would bring more to base raiding and so on.
