Adding "Better Prisoners" to the Trader ... and other stuff

15 posts in this topic

i am trying to figure out how to add the magazines to the trader for a very high sell value.  i have been on other servers that do this to help users get money faster, and i liked it.

let me start by saying Hello!.  i'm new here and new to Exile hosting.  Server is hosted with Havoc if that means anything to how i set this up.

So far server is private, as we sort through things, but plan to open it to the public once we do.

I have found exile.altis.pbo file and found where everything is listed ... example

class Exile_Item_Dogfood                        { quality = 2; price = 18; }; //30, 30

however i cant figure out how to add the magazines.  also what is the //30,30 for? in the above example?

and can i change the amount of respect you get for selling items, or is that the 30/30. ..

Can i just edit this pbo with word pad? or do i need a special editor?

Cheers,

Lamp.

Download PBOmanager as it is needed to break open those PBO files to get at the text documents you will be editing

After you open the PBO with the CfgArsenal will contain all item respect levels on the left and the price on the right, the buy to sell ratio can be set aswell but by default exile has is set to 0.5 or 50%, buy for 20 sell for 10.

to add an ID to the arsenal if its not there you first need to find out it's class name which the game uses to identify shit, while you see what its display name is i.e Porn Magazine / porn_magazine_01

you will need to find out the class name for the magazines you want to add, there are a number of ways to do this

I usually do it 2 ways

1. I will log onto my server and open infiSTAR (which you should go buy its honestly required for servers) then search for the item and it will come up with the name, classname, and if i want to spawn one in

2. Go into the a3 editor with exile loaded up with your game then search for it that way, note in the editor you cant search by classname from my understanding, (all exile items have "Exile" in their name which would make that easy) so you must search by its real name and get the class name that way.

Lamp.

you can give players more respect for selling items yes, that i believe is in exile_server_config in your @Exileserver folder which you will also have to un-pbo to get to, this also will contain your loot table that you can edit, aswell as the loot positions of each object that can spawn loot (with another download check the top of the site, the loot positions will have to be done with another mod elsewhere, although they are fine for supported maps), the rest of the respect settings (x respect for x kills ect), bambi loadouts, non-persistent vehicles spawn on the server every restart and random events (earthquake, supply drop, air flyby)

and infistar is very simple to install maybe 20 minutes of time spent if its your first time and going by the installation text file

cfgarsenal has all the prices and respect requirments to buy items

class Exile_Item_Dogfood                        { quality = 2; price = 18; };

you need level 2 respect (default 10000 respect) and 18 pop tabs to buy this item for example

to change the actual respect per "level" is in CfgTrading, make sure your using notepad++ as it will greatly help you search and find errors

If you want the ability to sell them, but now have them listed in the shop itself, add the following (but edit it for whatever values you want) to the category of your choice under CfgExileArsenal. Mine is in hardware, but it doesn't particularly matter since they're not being listed.

    class Exile_Item_Magazine01                        { quality = 6; price = 15000; };
    class Exile_Item_Magazine02                        { quality = 6; price = 15000; };
    class Exile_Item_Magazine03                        { quality = 6; price = 15000; };
    class Exile_Item_Magazine04                        { quality = 6; price = 15000; };

If you do, however, want to list these items for whatever reason, simply add the item names with commas to the trader list of choice (found under CfgTraderCategories)
