BEC auto Restarts

16 posts in this topic

Hi Guys, im trying to set up a server, and first thing I want to do is get auto restarts fired up.

I have followed @EDG's guide (http://www.exilemod.com/topic/6357-bec-battleye-extended-controls-setup-with-auto-restarts/

I have created the 3 bat files as explained. they are located in C:\Arma\Restarts. Bec is located in C:\Arma\Installs\Bec and my server is C:\Arma\Server.

They all seem to function as they should,  when ran individually. BEC just doesn't perform the scheduled task. In fact BEC doesnt do anything. opens for a couple of seconds then closes, never to be seen again!

Here is my restartserver.bat

@echo off
::MAKE SURE ALL TASKS ARE REALLY STOPPED

taskkill /f /fi "status eq not responding" /im arma3server.exe
taskkill /f /im arma3server.exe
timeout 1

::IF YOU PLAY ON SAME PC AS SERVER, SOMETIMES RESTARTS GET HUNG UP BECAUSE OF IT SO MAKE SURE TO KILL CLIENTSIDE TOO, I DONT, BUT JUST IN CASE YOU DO

taskkill /f /fi "status eq not responding" /im arma3.exe
taskkill /f /im arma3.exe
timeout 1

:: KILL BATTLEYE IF IT ISN'T ALREADY
taskkill /im Bec.exe

::SHUTDOWN SERVERMONITOR IF IT IS ALREADY RUNNING - WE RESTART IT AT THE END OF THIS
taskkill /f /im cmd.exe /fi "windowtitle eq servermonitor.bat
echo Make sure all is clear

echo Restarting Battleye

and im just trying to test the restart with a 5min schedule like this

<Scheduler>

		<start>000500</start>
		<runtime>013000</runtime>
		<loop>0</loop>
		<cmd>C:\Arma\Restarts\stopserver.bat</cmd>
	</job>

</Scheduler>

Can anyone see any glaring mistakes or help me out any way to: to get auto restarts working?

To use bec and the auto restarts should I run BEC.exe, should U start the server via one of the BAT files I created then run BEC?

 I use to have an Arma 2 server and remember having this working then but that was a long time ago and not a lot is clicking.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Add this to your windows hosts file:

127.0.0.1   www.ibattle.org
127.0.0.1   ibattle.org

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

BEC was turned back on. That's not required anymore.

Make sure you have a bans.txt file in your battleye folder, even if it's an empty file. Add a pause after "start "" /min "Bec.exe" -f Config.cfg" so you have to hit a key to continue. If you do that and BEC encounters an error, you will see what it is before it closes the window.

Same problem here, server and BEC starts up, then BEC says checking for new version and then quits itself.

Thanks for the response.

I read somewhere else to add  --dsc  to the BEC start up paramaters. which I did and also changed the time bec will wait for the server to start.

I also googled how to add a pause like u suggested.

None of this seems to have helped much. The only difference is now bec doesnt look for updates. just tries to connect to the server and fails.

I attached a pic of what Bec does now and here is the txt from the BEC Error log

Quote

No Valid response. Trying to reconnect.!
16:49:38 : No Valid response. Trying to reconnect.!
16:49:42 : No Valid response. Trying to reconnect.!
16:49:46 : Lost Connection!
16:49:46 : Closing socket & exiting!

Thank you for helping!!

Tried this myself, BEC will not start without the HOSTS edit.
