Coordinates

4 posts in this topic

Hello, I'm having issues with Coordinates for spawn zones. I created a few spawn zones on Chernarus but that was because I got the coordinates from someone else, I can't seem to figure out how to find the coordinates for a spawn zone.

I open M3Editor and I go to the place I want to spawn, I write down the coordinates, type them in like so.

Spoiler

	class Item12
		{
			position[]={9579.49,304.013};
			name="SpawnGorka";
			text="Gorka";
			type="ExileSpawnZone";
			markerType="ELLIPSE";
			colorName="ColorBlack";
			fillName="Border";
			a=500;
			b=500;
			drawBorder=1;
		};
	};
		class Item13
		{
			position[]={9579.49,304.013};
			name="GorkaSpawnIcon";
			text="Gorka";
			type="ExileSpawnZoneIcon";
		};

But it sends me in the ocean xD Can someone help me out? Thx

I'm getting the cords from the bottom left of the M3Editor seen in this pic, I have no clue how to do this xD

Spoiler

        class Item2
        {
            position[]={12054.753,6.1015596,3489.873};
            name="SpawnKamyshovo";
            text="Kamyshovo";
            type="ExileSpawnZone";
        };
        class Item3
        {
            position[]={13352.05,6.0021176,6301.7461};
            name="SpawnSolnichniy";
            text="Solnichniy";
            type="ExileSpawnZone";
        };

This is how we code ours.

I suggest getting your own coordinates to verify it's exactly what you want.  Go to the editor, make sure you are in the 3D version. Place a guy or vehicle (doesn't matter which since we are only grabbing the coordinates) right click on the guy or vehicle and go down to log and copy position to clipboard.  You will get [123,456,789].  [X,Y,Z] move z and y to make {123,789,456} as your coordinates and you will be just fine

Looks like you have an extra closed bracket between class 12 and 13.    PM Me if you still can't get it to work.

I suggest getting your own coordinates to verify it's exactly what you want.  Go to the editor, right click on any area you want to be the center point of your spawn location.  go down to log and copy position to clipboard.  You will get [123,456,0].  Simply remove the second comma and the 0 (this is generally the height and not needed for spawn zone).

Looks like you have an extra closed bracket between class 12 and 13.    PM Me if you still can't get it to work.

Thank you!

Had a long chat on getting coordinates after I was a da. Remember that the spawns are x,z,y coordinates for anyone having issues in the future. Glad we figured it out together DMan.
