Possible fix for ACCESS_VIOLATION (Divide by zero)

Question

On our new server, we have noticed a lot of players experiencing a "C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION". We have found the issue causing the client crash on our server. Unfortunately, this requires the server to be changed as the client cannot change this.

For the server, we have noticed that default Exile_Objects are causing issue, with that they have zero mass causing the client to divide by 0. The list of zero mass objects are on the following list Zero Mass Object List.  The easiest fix was to remove the zero mass objects, you can get the new serverInit.sqf file here with the changes: initServer.sqf

C0000005  Aka  ACCESS_VIOLATION, has nothing to do with Divide by zero issue.
The fact that arma logs potential divide by zero means they are probably handling it internally.

ACCESS_VIOLATION is usually (95% cases - runtime) caused by derefercing a null pointer.devenv_2017-01-09_13-35-39.png

That said there is little we can do ti figure out what is actually cousin this without arma source code.
If you see it laying around let me know ;)

@Brett Nordin nice post. Since you changed this, has the problem stopped completely?

Also, which map is this for?

This solved a crash issue for some of our players yes.
