Safe Code

Question

Hi,

A player of mine has a problem with his safe, he places it and places the code but when he goes to unlock it it's the wrong code.  This had happened twice now, he gets the option to pack it but not place it

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nick

this is a known exile issue.  SOMETIMES, logging out and back it 'resets' it, other times, you must wait till a server reboot.

Just use some common sense:

When you set up a safe the standard code is 0000. You enter that and its saved for now.

You then use "set pin" and enter the current pin and after that your new pin.

Exile still has the standard pin (0000) saved when you use the unlock function (you can tell by the fact that you use "lock/unlock" but there is no keypad coming up) , The safe code has been changed to your desired pin but the system sitll has the first pin you entered saved (0000), hence it comes back as "wrong code".

You have to relog to clear the saved pin so you get to enter the pin again and it works.

Basically a classic case of "have you tried turning it on and off again?" -.-

maybe we just maintain an array of last 3 entered safe codes or so, might be better

When I place my safe, it is automatically locked. I cannot change the pin or move or remove it. Any thoughts?

You could try.

Bring ExileClient_object_lock_setPin.sqf to your mission pbo

and add:

_object setVariable ["ExileAllreadyKnownCode",_newPinCode];

after this line:

if(_newPinCode isEqualTo "")exitWith {systemChat "Aborted!";};

Make sure your open your config.cpp and add the path to ExileClient_object_lock_setPin.sqf in class CfgExileCustomCode

Let me know.

Unlock it, then you're able to.

In regards to not being able to lock the safe after code is changed, let me quote Grim here: "Yeah, I got lazy."
So relog and it'll work. ;)
