solved Connecting Failed

5 posts in this topic

Hello, I followed the guide when creating a server but I am receiving the message "Connection Failed." Does anyone have suggestions on what causes this error?

Hey @Ericode,

Your problem could be any of the following:

1.  Server Launch File (Check your IP and settings)

2.  Port Forwarding

  • Steam Port 1 : 8766
  • Steam Port 2 : 27016
  • Arma3 Port 1 : 2302 - 2305

3.  Incorrect Config files

Let me know if you don't come right. If you can provide us with a screenshot of the error, it would go a long way in helping you troubleshoot

@Ericode

Do you have any more information, Is this a local server inside your own network or is this hosted ?, Is the sever running OK. can you share your server rpt file and the extDB log file to something like pastebin?

Thanks for the replies, it turns out that the issue was just me. The server is hosted from my house and my friend across the country was able to connect with his ping around 30. The ip= in the batch file had to be set to my global ip (or taken out).
