Idea to combat base destroying

Just a thought, it’s probably been said before,

Seen a few people not like the idea of base raiding saying that they spend hours designing and building a base and then it gets destroyed.

What if,

Still allow bullets to travel through normal wood walls, fortified protects but they both cannot be completely destroyed,

Doors and double doors with locks can be picked with damaged received either player or door or satchel charged and be destroyed?

 

~or~

 

A satchel charge can destroy as normal, but it’s a delayed “destroyed” upon reset the building returns to normal, allowing full access to the raid?

This will then allow a raid and not hinder on hours of work?

 

Thoughts?

I think people need to get used to the fact that nothing is forever in an ArmA survival mod. If you build a big ol' base thats going to attract a lot of attention, chances are its going to be seiged and raided by groups who are willing to take the risk. Rome may have not been built in a day, but it fell in one. Remember the idea behind DayZ (which spawned all of the mods we know now as "survival mods") was that even if someone was able to survive 8 months and gear themselves to high heaven, a new spawn with a makarov could end it all. Like wise with bases, you could spend days building and upgrading, but it only takes some exposives to bring it down. Thats the risk you run, thats one part of the idea this mod is based on. 

That being said, I think a substantial amount of risk needs to go into base raiding and there definitely needs to be a way to make bases harder to raid when the owners are offline.

A script that blocks base damage while owners are offline, issue fixed.

Just as Cobalt said NOTHING is forever! and if you do not want to lose your base just build no doors so everyone cann access it...

So, set the base owners on aggro whenever their base is under attack. And have players who disconnect while in aggro stay ingame for 20 minutes.

Just set it to a set time after log off. So Player a logs off, for the next 30 mins player a's base is raid-able.

I've gave these ideas many times in other threads here and on other forums, with alot of people thinking its a great idea.

Then we have another problem. you wait untill someone loggs off and then raid his base in the 30 mins or what ever it is...

Bases just should be raidable ALL the time. Thats the only way!

You'd be doing well to break in and raid a base in 30 mins. unless you've done it a few times before, in which case its the base owners fault for not learning how to strengthen the weak areas, or the base is small and not well protected.

Its all about balance. You what to make it hard enough to make it a challenge, but not so easy that you can raid a base quickly.

Well i played arma 2 Epoch/Overpoch/Origins , Rust, ARK and like EVERY survival game... it is EASY to break into a base if you are not brain dead.

30mins are Way enought to break into everything in a base.... atm it is not worth it as everything is locked up but hopefully soon they change it so that vehicles are not perma closed or you get a tool to lockpick doors/cars/safes etc..

Grow a pair. Base destruction gives more dynamics to the game. Have gamers all gone "pink"? seems like it.
