Changing Maps In Vilayer

3 posts in this topic

Ok for all the people that are having problems changing maps in Vilayer I have a fix for you.

  • In vilayer on the ACPlayer you will see something that says server management, click that.
  • Once the screen loads you will see a dropdown that says "Access Level" -  Switch it to "Advanced"
  • Next, you will see a drop down that says "Malloc Type"    -  switch it to the one that says (recommended)
  • Next, at the very bottom you will see where it says Basic.cfg   -    Switch that to "Custom"
  • Now, on to how to get your maps going using launch paramaters
  • you'll need to place the paramaters for the map you want in the "Add Client Mods" area
  • For example, if you're running something like....esseker that needs both @Esseker and @AllinArmATerrainPack you would simplywrite in the client area @AllinArmaTerrainPack;@Esseker
  • Same with any server side mods you have. just @mod;@moremods just remember to use ; to separate mods
  • Now all u need to do is press Execute at the top of the screen and wait until it says it is safe to close the window.
  • Next, you need to go back to the ACPlayer and click on "Configuration"
  • Find the "yourname"_masterconfiguration\"numbers"_config.cfg  (usually its the first file in their)
  • Open that and scroll ALL the way to the bottom (by the way if you need to name your server and things like that...this is the file for that)
  • Find this:

// MISSIONS CYCLE (see below)
class Missions
{
 class Exile
 {
  template = Exile.Altis;
  difficulty = "Regular";
 };
};

  • It needs to be switched to something like this:

// MISSIONS CYCLE (see below)
class Missions
{
 class Exile
 {
  template = Blah_Blah_exile.Bornholm; // define what you named your custom pbo Example: Zombies_Exile.Esseker.pbo (no .pbo)
  difficulty = "ExileRegular"; // ExileRegular or ExileHardcore will work here if you want to switch between the two
 };
};

Done, restart server and have fun.

Yay I wrote my first tutorial!!

you talking about your MPmission file or are you talking about like Exile_server_config.pbo?

well, lets put it this way.... in your file manager you have a folder called "VilayerCodeCustom"

This folder has folder forms of other pbo's. These all can be edited directly and don't need to be re-packed into pbo's. At each restart the server will pull from the "VilayerCodeCustom" directory and pack them into pbo's itself then use them on the server. So basically, say you want to add something to a line of code but don't want to bring your server down just yet. Edit it here and then at the next restart it will update for you.

In the "VilayerCodeCustom you will see 3 more folders.....

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Exile_Server -> an unpacked version of Exile_Server.pbo

Exile_Server_Config -> an unpacked version of Exile_Server_Config.pbo

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Missions -

Missions has 2 folders inside of it.  Which are:

Custom_Pbo ->  In here you can place your mission.pbo (Exile.Altis, Exile.Esseker or whatever) You can put it in here as a pbo or a folder (your choice)

Exile_Altis ->  This is your current mission file which is also editable.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Hope this helps, if you need any more help hit me up on my TS and we will walk through this if need be.
