Understanding EXILE's weather config setup

6 posts in this topic

Hi guys,

So I have a question around EXILES config.cpp (Server) for weather.

Here is my setup

		keyframes[] = {"Sunny","Cloudy","Thunderstorm","Thunderstorm","Cloudy"};
		/*
			This is a keyframe. Look up the BIKI to get more details about the parameters
			Be sure to design the fog settings at a view distance of 1,600m as this is the
			limit in multiplayer by default
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/fogParams
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/overcast
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setWaves
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setWindStr
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setGusts
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setRain
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setLightnings
			https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setRainbow
		*/
		class Sunny
		{

			fogValue = 0.2;
			fogDecay = 0.2;
			fogBase = 5;
			overcast = 0.5;
			waves = 0.2;
			wind = 0.3;
			gusts = 0.3;
			rain = 0;
			lightnings = 0;
			rainbows = 0;
		};
		class Cloudy
		{

			fogValue = 0.3;
			fogDecay = 0.1;
			fogBase = 5;
			overcast = 0.4;
			waves = 0.4;
			wind = 0.1;
			gusts = 0.1;
			rain = 0.1;
			lightnings = 0.1;
			rainbows = 1;
		};
		class Thunderstorm
		{
			fogValue = 0.7;
			fogDecay = 0.2;
			fogBase = 20;
			overcast = 1;
			waves = 1;
			wind = 0.1;
			gusts = 0.1;
			rain = 0.2;
			lightnings = 1;
			rainbows = 0.5;
		};
	};
	class Time
	{
		// Uses Dedicated Server time as ingame Time
		useRealTime = 0;
		// Will overide RealTime
		useStaticTime = 1;
		// time in ARMA FORMAT << CONFIG
		// https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setDate
		staticTime[] = {2015,4,24,10,0};

And here is my mission.sqm -

	randomSeed=8080942;
	class Intel
	{
		startWeather=0.30000001;
		startWind=0.1;
		startWaves=0.1;
		forecastWeather=0.30000001;
		forecastWind=0.1;
		forecastWaves=0.1;
		forecastLightnings=0.1;
		year=2015;
		month=4;
		day=30;
		hour=6;
		minute=0;
		startFogDecay=0.013;
		forecastFogDecay=0.013;
	};

My server seems to ignore the EXILE config and use the standard mission.sqm weather.. Any ideas why? I thought EXILE's config would overwrite the mission?

Thats intended, as per the description to favour that keyframe being selected....

It's working fine for me. Have you tried setting it to "Thunderstorm" only or some specific setting to test it? Or how did you find out that it "ignores the EXILE config and uses the standard mission.sqm weather"?

Pretty simple, I set my mission.sqm time / date to smething different to the config, and it pulls the mission.sqm data, ignores the config.
