setTimeMultiplier

8 posts in this topic

I noticed this in 0.9.34 initPlayerLocal.sqf:

// Taken away for now
//#include "initServer.sqf"

I used to put this line in initServer.sqf to accelerate time:

setTimeMultiplier 6;

Since that file isn't loaded anymore, where do I put it?

In Initserver.sqf, and still works :)

You can keep initserver.sqf just remove the trader objects from it.

I left initserver.sqf commented out, but it must be still being called from somewhere because I forgot and added map stuff to it and it still works.

Question can you use -setTimeMultiplier somewhere else I was thinking in exile_server_config/config.ccp

Maybe like this?

class Time
    {
        // Uses Dedicated Server time as ingame Time
        useRealTime = 0;

        // Will overide RealTime
        useStaticTime = 1;

        // time in ARMA FORMAT << CONFIG
        // https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setDate

        staticTime[] = {2039,08,12,10,00};

        //Set day cycle speed eg. x6 = 24hr day in 6 hours
        setTimeMultiplier 6;
    };

Not sure if that's right I'm just using this as a guide https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setTimeMultiplier doesn't say exactly where to put it.

My idea is that this section already is setting the time variables so is it the appropriate place for it?

Exile_Server\code\ExileServer_system_weather_initialize.sqf:

if(_useStaticTime isEqualTo 1)then
{
	setDate _staticTime;
	setTimeMultiplier 6;
}

You can also use skipTime the same way in the _useRealTime section to offset server time from real.

Probably other ways to do it too but this worked for me...
