Server doesn't show Mods

Question

I'm running a linux server with esseker but the used mods are not shown in Arma 3 itself or for example A3Launcher.

As far as i know it is because steamserverquery shows only the -mod parameter not the -servermod one.

Anything i can do about it?

Use both -mod= for client side mods and -serverMod= for server mods not shown to clients

-mod=@Exile;@AllInArmaTerrainPack;@Esseker; -serverMod=@ExileServer;

Thx but that doesn't work.

In order to get esseker running you have to write the @aia and @esseker in the servermod parameter.

depending on your distro of linux, you'll have to ensure that you either use \; at the end of each mod listed. I know Fedora/RHEL and Cent OS require that. Additionally, the mod folders have to be lowercase as well, it doesn't load correctly otherwise.

If a mod is loaded in the -servermod=@exileserver\;@esseker\;@aia\; those listed mods will not show up in any server browser (they're hidden from the client) if you add it to the -mod=@exile\;@esseker\;@aia\; then the client will see those mods and it will also be required that they have them to connect to the server.

As an example, I'll post my Altis start.sh file.

./arma3server -config=server/config.cfg -cfg=server/basic.cfg -port=2302 -name=exile -pid=2302.pid -servermod=@exileserver\;@infistar_exile\;@rhsusaf\;@rhsafrf\;@mas\; -mod=@exile\; -cpucount=4 -maxMem=2047 -autoInit -nosound -nosplash -world=empty -profiles

As you can see, I load RHS and Nato Spetznaz as a server side mod so the clients don't need to have it to connect to the server and play. They will need to in order to view and use the items within those mods however.

My server runs fine without problems, but i have to use the -servermod parameter for everything except @exile and so nobody will see what kind of mods i run. If you filter the servers by the mods in any launcher application it won't show up.

If you are running a server on linux, you got the same problem.

So why so many servers not showing mods at all lately?

When you review, scroll over the server it shows up 0 mods installed.

Could this be a firewall issue blocking those ports? or is it they have taken out the -mod list

Just curious

these are mostly windows os servers I noticed

I don't know about the windows servers, but i got it working.

All i had to do was rename every file inside my used mod folders to lowercase. Now i'm able to run the server like this:

-mod=@exile\;@allinarmaterrainpacklite\;@esseker -servermod=@exileserver
