Database wipe for next release? Wowzers

8 posts in this topic

So it says database wipe for next release.  I get it, but having worked with databases for a while I'm sure someone will come up with a couple lines of sql queries to transfer the data over right?  I mean I'm not a MySQL ninja, but I am pretty good at Microsoft SQL and DTS packages to move data around.  Will this be at all possible instead of wiping?

I'm sure we can all ban together to get this done so the Exile devs don't have to waste time on this.  Right?  Guys?  Hello?

Hugs and kiss for all.

anything is possible.

Without further details i am thinking that the reason they have said a wipe is required is due to the new building restrictions, which could mean you only have to wipe constructions and containers ( as they are generally inside bases ) .not accounts / players / territories / vehicles

all depends on what the changes are to the structure of the tables and the data inside them.

Last time there was a wipe I wiped the whole database EXCEPT for accounts, that way players still kept their tabs and respect.

Wounds will Heal and people will forget and keep playing life as you know it is not over ! =)
