Hi, what's about setting up a secured connection for this forum? At least after the exploitusage. New passwords do not gather any benefit if the registration information as same as the login credentials are beeing send through plaintext through the web. Esp. with the look onto the current and growing size of users logging in here hourly/daily. There should be a kinda responsibility. Currently it surely looks like: USER(plain http) --Users-ISP-- backbone-transit(still plain http) -- cloud-flare(POST/GET data from upstream/backend(still plain http)) -- backbone-transit -- Datacenter(ISP) -- backend-exileforum-webserver Sniffing at some hotspot or compromized any other compromized network or during any transit/portmirror to cloudflare or backendserver... is too easy. Even without spoofing any adresses. ## /root: tcpdump -i em1 -vv -l -A -p tcp port 80 | grep -E -i 'pass=|password=|login=|user=|username=|pass:|password:|user:|username:' tcpdump: listening on em1, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65535 bytes Referer: http://www.exilemod.com/?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1 login__standard_submitted=1&csrfKey=7XXXYZdeadbeef14ef87182cd48cafe2&auth=xyz123%40whocaresabout_de&password=Q1w2e3r4&remember_me=0&remember_me_checkbox=1&signin_anonymous=0 Location: http://www.exilemod.com/?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1 E....?@.?..j..>ph.o....P<@..`T.%P..w....GET /?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1 HTTP/1.1 Referer: http://www.exilemod.com/?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1 Referer: http://www.exilemod.com/?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1 Referer: http://www.exilemod.com/?_fromLogin=1&_fromLogout=1 ## - frontend connection to cloud-flare should be secured with an valid (non-ev cert) - backend connection to the upstream/originate webserver should be secured at least with a self signed certificate - else transfer to and from cloudflare would be proceed in plaintext I think, even if there is 3rd party content is embedded at this forum(for sure) - doesent matter if pictures, banners, buttons, etc. through an plain link, then the change of the color at browser/url-line is acceptable. Because it provides a general better feeling surfing this forum. Furthermore it would become more positive rated at several seach-engines and their ranking (eg. google/alexa page-ranking) t Whats your opinion about it? -- Free-SSL-Certificates: #1-year valid https://www.startssl.com/ #3-months valid https://letsencrypt.org/
VMG Gaming was setup in March 2016 by a group of members from a highly successful 'flight sim' community. We, at VMG Gaming believe that a great community makes for an excellent gaming experience. We have stripped the Exile game mode back to basics by making sure the core features operate to their full potential. With only one small mod to download, this server caters for everyone. We aim to provide assistance and support to anyone that would like to join our gaming community. We aim to please each member by providing an accessible and efficient communication service through our dedicated forum. Us guys at Virtual Military Group have played the Exile mod ever since it launched. We understand the key components of military simulation such as close teamwork and communication when engaging in a mission. Because of this we wanted to focus on the fun and interesting side of the mod which is why you'll enjoy a fantastic and well maintained gaming server. Even if you just want to talk about the game, we would love to invite you to our community. You can check us out on our Forum: http://www.vmggaming.com/forum/ You can also check us out on our Facebook to see what kind of work we're doing on the server to make the experience effortless and more enjoyable for you: https://www.facebook.com/vmggaming/ If you're looking to game with mature individuals that enjoy the experience for what it is, then this is your place to be. We've tried countless communities and found that the team in charge just simply don't commit or dedicate to their members. We want to change this type of atmosphere. This is the place to be.
I started playing Arma over 3 years ago and to date I have on one account alone over 4000 hours. About 2 and a half years ago I started my first server... Did not know the first thing about scripting. Now I have 11 server. If I would have done what some of you are saying and stopped hosting my server. I would not know what I know now. Which by the way is a hell of a lot more then I knew back then. I have had people come to my team-speak and want me to do their work on their server. I simply tell them in that case if they have not played on my servers, why should I help them build their server. Then I tell them about the forums and this magic tool known as GOOGLE. There was this one guy and he would come to my TS and always had question. I would try to help him. It got to the point that I told him something someone told me a long time ago (btw im 56). I will no longer give you the answer, BUT I will point you in the right direction. Guess what, he has never came back. Was someone that did not want to try. Now maybe he is looking though the forums. The point I want to make is YES there are times that you would love to just take their INTERNET LICENSE away LOL, but remember how I was when you started. I know I got on peoples nerves. The thing is im not lazy. I love to learn. Once I have that knowledge I want to past it on. Past it on: that is what will make this forum Positive feed back from the leaders Everyone that has learned something from this forum can help, you don't have to do it for them. Just try when all else fails remember: POINT IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION I'm sorry that I went on, but I started off trying to find a replacement for A3XAI. Then all I was seeing was so much native feed back.
