  1. UPDATE MAY 2018: Guide has been updated for 1.0.4 PINEAPPLE Hi All, This guide will address a Windows platform install from start to finish. The guide is accompanied by a download that includes all the necessary files you will need to setup your own server. You can also find the individual download links within the guide's pdf. Download Includes: EXILE SERVER INSTALLATION GUIDE V1.0.4.pdf Steam Installer MySQL Installer Vcredist Installer DirectX Installer Pbo Manager Installer Notepad++ Installer Server Launch Files DOWNLOAD UPDATED VCredist (Extract and run bat file as admin)
  2. Description If you are looking for a solution to start / restart your server in windows here's a quick and easy way to do it. I have a .bat file that will start my exile server and keep it up when it crashes or restarts. In order for this to work you need to change a file in exile_server.pbo. You can of course use the overwrite in the mission file config for an easier implementation. The code that was added will shutdown your server after the restart messages. The bat will pickup on the fact that the server process no longer exists and will start it again. How to install Download the updated file from here http://highstrike.net/arma/files/ExileServer_system_rcon_thread_check.sqf Unpack your mission file and make a new folder called "restart" there and add ExileServer_system_rcon_thread_check.sqf in there. Next open your config.cpp from your mission and go to CfgExileCustomCode and add it there class CfgExileCustomCode { ExileServer_system_rcon_thread_check = "restart\ExileServer_system_rcon_thread_check.sqf"; ... other stuff here ... }My arma3server.exe is located in T:\Arma3\A3Master My .bat file is located in T:\Arma3 If you place your .bat next to your arma3server.exe you need to remove the 'cd A3Master' part from it. @echo off cls set version=0.9.19 set wat=Arma3 Exile title %wat% Watchdog cd A3Master :watchdog echo (%time%) %wat% started. start "Exile" /wait /high "arma3server.exe" -port=2302 "-serverMod=@ExileServer;@marma" "-mod=@Exile;" "-config=@ExileServer\config.cfg" "-cfg=@ExileServer\basic.cfg" -profiles=config_exile -name=exile -malloc=tbbmalloc -autoinit -enableHT echo (%time%) %wat% closed or crashed, restarting. goto watchdog
  3. I couldn't get the built in auto restart to work nor any of the other user provided scripts so I pieced together one that works for me. It may or may not work for you but I figured I would share since this is a modding community. You can probably clean up the code since I am far from a programmer. With this batch file you can - Set the restart time down to the second It tells you when your server started and when it is going to restart automatically It tells you if/when your server crashed and restarts it for you Time stamps everything so you know when everything happened No need for BEC or anything else third party, just PowerShell and my server came with it Checks on your server every 3 seconds and restarts when needed Timer restarts if your server crashes This screenshot shows it running at 1 minute intervals to test and display the status messages. I killed the process manually to test the process checker and restart. Then I let it run for the 1 minute and you can see it notifies you that it is time for a restart and does so without user interaction. Usage - Set your restart timer (below is for 4 hour restarts) set hours="4" set minutes="0" set seconds="0" Set your launch parameters and folder paths REM // Launch parameters start "Exile" /high "arma3server.exe" -port=2302 "-config=@ExileServer\config.cfg" "-cfg=@ExileServer\basic.cfg" "-profiles=config_exile" -name=Exile "-servermod=@ExileServer;" "-mod=@Exile;" -malloc=tbbmalloc -autoinit -enableHT Run the batch file. Place the batch file in the same folder as arma3server.exe The Batch File (save as auto_restart.bat or anothername.bat) @echo off cls set gameserver=Arma Exile title %gameserver% Auto Restart / Process Checker :start REM How long until auto restart? set hours="4" set minutes="0" set seconds="0" REM // Launch parameters start "Exile" /high "arma3server.exe" -port=2302 "-config=@ExileServer\config.cfg" "-cfg=@ExileServer\basic.cfg" "-profiles=config_exile" -name=Exile "-servermod=@ExileServer;" "-mod=@Exile;" -malloc=tbbmalloc -autoinit -enableHT REM //////// You do not need to update anything else below this line //////// REM Pull, display and create some time functions for /f "delims=" %%G IN ('powershell "(get-date %time%).AddHours(%hours%).AddMinutes(%minutes%).AddSeconds(%seconds%).ToString('yyyyMMddHHmmss')"') do set endtime=%%G for /f "delims=" %%G IN ('powershell "(get-date %time%).ToString('HH:mm:ss')"') do set nowtimeclean=%%G for /f "delims=" %%G IN ('powershell "(get-date %time%).AddHours(%hours%).AddMinutes(%minutes%).AddSeconds(%seconds%).ToString('HH:mm:ss')"') do set endtimeclean=%%G echo %time% - %gameserver% Server started at %nowtimeclean% and will restart at %endtimeclean% :checkarma for /f "delims=" %%G IN ('powershell "(get-date %time%).ToString('yyyyMMddHHmmss')"') do set nowtime=%%G REM ////////// TIMER CHECK /////////// if "%nowtime%" gtr "%endtime%" ( echo %time% - It is time to restart %gameserver%! echo. echo. goto restartarma ) REM ////////// END TIMER CHECK /////////// REM ////////// PROCESS CHECK /////////// tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq arma3server.exe" 2>NUL | find /I /N "arma3server.exe">NUL if "%ERRORLEVEL%"=="1" ( echo %time% - The process is not running, restart %gameserver%! echo. echo. goto restartarma ) REM ////////// END PROCESS CHECK /////////// REM restart not needed. Check again in 3 seconds. TIMEOUT /T 3 /NOBREAK >NUL goto checkarma :restartarma REM Either the server crashed or it is time for a restart. Kill the process and go to start. START taskkill /f /im arma3server.exe 2>nul TIMEOUT /T 3 /NOBREAK >NUL goto start If you can improve on this then by all means please do and post your fixes / updates / optimizations. Enjoy!

Cannot get past loading screen / log errors?

Hi, I'm back, with more errors. On my windows dedi server (Server 2012), whenever i launch the game, nobody, (my friends or i) cannot join the game, just an infinite loading screen. The console recognises that we have connected however. Here is a segment of an error i think could be doing something?!: Funnily enough, this error is repeated but with different variables.... Here is the whole log, theres alot of errors so please check it out (i didn't want to spam the forum) http://pastebin.com/M4VGNmET Thanks in advance
  6. I am willing to offer assistance with new installations on Windows Dedicated servers no VPS servers as I will not be responsible for poor performance on those. Send me a PM and we can talk about it. I have my servers running error free and everything works so I'm a bit bored so lets see who we can get going!

    Error: Bambi Creation Timeout

I have been having this problem for the past hour and can't seem to work it out. As the title suggests... I have checked the other threads and tried the other fixes suggested. I ran a server a few months ago and didn't have this issue. Everything went smooth. RPT Log - http://pastebin.com/rqy44mJC Mostly worried about this particular section of the RPT Log. The rest seems normal. 8:54:04 "ExileServer - Starting session for '[FRAC]Ghostyy' with ID 'zpXvqhIf'..." 8:54:53 Error in expression <llExtension _query); (_result select 1) select 0> 8:54:53 Error position: <select 0> 8:54:53 Error Generic error in expression 8:54:53 File exile_server\code\ExileServer_system_database_query_insertSingle.sqf, line 16 8:54:53 Error in expression <llExtension _query); (_result select 1) select 0> 8:54:53 Error position: <select 0> 8:54:53 Error Generic error in expression 8:54:53 File exile_server\code\ExileServer_system_database_query_insertSingle.sqf, line 16 The above comes up every time I try to join. So about 1min after picking a spawn location it comes up with the error. I tried turning Strict mode off first. Didn't work. (my.ini and my_default.ini) I made sure I was using the latest exile.ini and even replaced the whole file with the one out of the original download rar. I am also deleting myself from the database every time this happens to make sure that isn't the issue. Below is the latest extDB2 log file too, incase that might hold some significance. Going to start a server

Hi guys, I'm going to be upgrading my CPU soon from an i5 4670k to an i7 4790k. I've also got an extra R9 270X lying around. With the extra CPU and GPU, I want to go the whole mile and just setup my own Exile server. Specs will be: CPU: i5 4670k @ 4.2Ghz GPU: R9 270X RAM: GSkill Ripjaws 8GB @ 1600Mhz SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB I have two questions: First, what operating system should I try to use? I don't want to shell out for another Windows license. Then again, I have absolutely no experience with Linux. Any suggestions? Second, with the rig mentioned above, what kind of server FPS might I be expecting? P.S. I'm thinking of setting up this server because I live in South Korea. I have a very fast and very stable internet connection. The main reason that I'm considering starting this server is that there are quite a few Korean players, but there is a dearth of Korean servers for whatever reason. Anyway, thanks for the input in suggestions, it will all be appreciated. Regards, pindleton
  9. I stuck on this screen(Waiting for server to load...) when i change any parameter on exile_server_config.pbo or Exile.Altis.pbo and re-pack with PBO Manager. With stock files everything run without any issues. Client Logs: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=kpTN3iNV Server Logs: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=pTyTz4Ui extDB Logs: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=uQav8X7Z With Windows Server 2012 R2(64 bits) and Debian Jessie 8.2(64 bits). Same issue on both. I am using fresh install of ARMA3(with steamcmd) & Exile Nectarine. Any help is welcome. Thank you.
  10. Can you add an option or something to separate basic linux and windows posts?
