i would suspect that there is just a : somewhere in that file then, or 1 of the sqf files. I dont think you are a noob if you figured that part on your own. I made a tutorial in another thread on setting up your own map. basically the sameway.

What i was referring to is a custom player marker script in the mission. maybe an override in the CfgExileCustomCode

ExileClient_gui_map_event_onDraw.sqf will show map marker for player.

in the editor, when you add an ellipse to the map, there is an exile  marker section, with dropdowns, and you can select the zone and icon, then once you have that, you export via the exile 3den plugin

 is where I posted the tutorial on map marker adding.

Face palm, you have selected shapes not the icons look at the top left panel, you see the square and circle? That's what your on you want the icons look left of that you see other shapes select them. Now try
