Wrong signature kicks

Question

Hey, so me(admin) and some of my players are getting kicked occasionally for wrong signature. These can be standard arma files or mod files. Just happens. Not too long ago i migrated to another server and redownloaded everything, so i highly doubt its a true file corruption. Also validated all my local game/mod files and so on.  Config is under spoiler. Saw that more people have this issue on the forum, but no solution. Any ideas?

p.s. Happens with both verifySignatures = 1 or 2.

I don't know how helpful this will be but I have 1 player that repeatedly encountered this because his download of exile was corrupt or somehow problematic. He re-downloaded exile through A3 launcher and then verified the file after download in a3 launcher and it fixed the issue.

Does the client definitely have the same mod versions as the server? I had this issue with one of my players but it turned out he had a different version of the same mod. JSRS for example has 3 different versions that are newish.

Hello Dima054,

There are two things that will cause this:

#1 - Server/Client signature files/mods are wrong version/corrupted.  Some file on the server/client are NOT the same!

#2 - 'Lag' issue - See:

These are the only 'real' reasons it happens.

Follow the above advice in option #2, and for 99.9% of people, the issue will 'go away'.

Also, if it is JUST your friends and you playing, you can always disable the 'signature check' by setting the value of it to ZERO.  This is in the 'Config.CFG' (default name) file.

However, if this is a public server, DO NOT DISABLE IT!

Good luck!

:)

It's a public server. Today a clan was playing and only one of their guys was getting kicked. He said that it was totally fine on other servers with same set of mods. I can't disable file validation and am very sad because beloved players are getting kicked.

To quote my post:  "Have them join SEVERAL OTHER SERVERS running the EXACT SAME MODS - more mods is ok, but NOT LESS THAN WHAT YOU USE!  If all/most fail, then problem is listed, however, if he can join all the other servers, then the problem most likely lies on YOUR server.  Try at least 3-5 different servers."

And:  "Do note, it is possible the network settings on your server are 'bad'.  They also can cause this error as well too.  Inspect/verify you 'basic.cfg' for any improper and/or 'funky' settings. "

Re-read the post.  Your answer lies within...

;)
